The professional staff at Rehability are specialists in working with people with acquired brain injury and their families. Rehability staff have gained experience both in Australia and overseas and staff have well established links in this field to enable a collaborative approach.
Brooke Kooymans
Director
Case Management and Social Work Services
Brooke has successfully graduated from the University of QLD with a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology and Sociology) 1998, Bachelor of Social Work 1998, a Master of Social Work (advanced counselling, human service leadership and human service management) 2004 and Griffith University with a Graduate Certificate in Rehabilitation Case Management 2007. Brooke is a member of the Case Management Society of Australia (CMSA), the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), the Australia Society for the Study of Brain Impairment (ASSBI) and the Brain Injury Association (BIAQ).
Brooke has specialised in working with acquired brain injury and disability and has worked extensively with clients, carers and families throughout all stages of brain injury recovery in the Accident and Emergency department, Intensive care Unit, Neurosurgery Unit and the Brain Injury rehabilitation Unit. Brooke has also worked for an extended period of time in the community based Brain injury Outreach Service (ABIOS) and as a private case management provider for the last 6 years. Brooke has developed an in-depth knowledge of brain injury and its impact on individuals and extensive skills in case management.

Catherine Kramer
Occupational Therapy Services
Since graduating with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Hons Class 1) from the University of Qld, Catherine has specialised in working with people with acquired brain injury and their families. Catherine has worked in a large metropolitan hospital in the areas of acute neurosurgery and neurology, brain injury inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, acute stroke management, stroke rehabilitation upperlimb rehabilition and splinting. Catherine has also worked at the Acquired Brain Injury Outreach Service (ABIOS) in Brisbane and in the community abroad in neurological rehabilitation unit. Catherine is FIMM certified, registered with the OT Board of QLD, a member of ASSBI, OT Australia, Medicare and is DVA registered.
